HARIES

Judge McCreath made a serious mistake in jailing Tim Haries. I hereby publicly offer to select, brief and pay a top barrister to get him out.

I work closely with Families need Fathers, and have supported Fathers 4 Justice for many years, and I have been through this agony myself.

Lawyers must realise that whilst not being doctors, the work they do can affect lives, as much as doctors do, and by lawyers, I include judges.

The Queen could, and never will, comment on this decision by a judge, but if ever there was a case for the dispensation of the Royal Pardon, this is it.

I am delighted to see that Fathers 4 Justice are liaising with their legal team on grounds for an appeal, but that is not enough.

When the five dockers were jailed by the Industrial relations Court, the House of Lords (now the Supreme Court) suddenly found time to hear the appeal within 24 hours. Funny that. The same must happen now.

There is no reason whatever, why this appeal cannot be before the Court of Appeal , Criminal Division, on Monday morning, and if necessary, before the Supreme Court on Monday afternoon.

This man is on hunger strike. His daughters do and will need him, so I hope he stops, but in the meantime bombard your MP, the No. 10 Website, Social media, Facebook, Twitter, and send a storm of protest.

Remember Tony Martin. Some of us were slow to support him. Let’s not make the same mistake this time.
