Child Contact – Press Information

Hylton-Potts - London Based Law Firm Helping People Across the UK since 1999

You’re a parent, probably a father, who wants to see his children and we’ve all seen families that need fathers, and Batman and Robin on the roof of the the High Court and there are some desperately sad stories in this area and we passionately work for you in these cases.  All lawyers hopefully work hard and do a good job; in this particular field we really feel it.

Rodney has been divorced twice himself and has five children and has had himself his own problems seeing them and even his relationship with them, so he keenly feels what you could be feeling now.  And over many many years we’ve seen fathers who have almost given up: don’t give up, never give up on your children.

The law is clear, it’s the children who have the rights, not the parents, the children have the rights to see their parents; note: parents. Sometimes poison can be dripped in an ear, or little Johnny might be ill on a Friday night after you’ve driven a long, long way.  Never give up.

The correct tactic is to move very quickly, set down on paper the contact you want; if you don’t get it, apply straight to the court. There’s somebody called a CAFCAS officer who’s a social worker, they tend to be, to be honest white, overweight, middle-aged, left-leaning, goody-two-shoes types who read read the Guardian and have a scrubbed pine kitchen and muesli for breakfast who favour Mummy’s view.  And they ask the children to write down on a piece of paper what they think of Mummy and Daddy, and Mummy normally is in a nice floral dress with a big sun over her, and Daddy is normally shown as somebody going out of the door with his umbrella … off to work or the golf club.  The social worker will jump on this as being evidence that Daddy isn’t loved.  There are ways around this and we can help you with them.

Rodney’s direct line is 020 7381 8111. Give him a ring if he can help you.  There’s no charge for the call, if he can help you on the phone he will, but above all, never give up on your kids.
